Training Endlessly and Conveniently for a Marathon Swim

Picture
There is an age-old problem that swimmers face: getting to a suitable body of water during the year.  Sometimes, distance to the seashore or lakeside is too far or not convenient.  Sometimes, the weather and water conditions are not conducive to a safe swim.  Sometimes, the water is simply too cold or too water.  One practical solution used by some marathon swimmers is to practice in an Endless Pool.  With Endless Pools, swimmers can adjust the water temperature and speed at which they train - conveniently throughout the year.

"I can train by simply walking downstairs and hopping in the Endless Pool to swim through the night and at different temperatures or speeds," explains Open Water Wednesday guest Jamie Patrick.
