Equipment:
Feeding Sticks And Other Stuff
Also called feeding poles.
Used on Marathon Swims
Feeding sticks allow the coach to hold the drinks and food stable during a feeding stop while standing on a boat. The sticks extend to 3 meters and have dual cups and a clip for gel packs or other foods. The extended stick is very safe when feeding from an escort boat under rough conditions.
Double-Cup Helps
Having a double-cup holder helps if the athlete wants two different types of hydration or fueling.
Fueling refers to eating solids foods while hydration refers to consuming liquids only.
Feeding Sticks In All Sizes & Shapes
Its shape and size is less important than a proper hand-off from coach to athlete.
Grab, Gulp and Go
Move quickly but make sure to take in all your drink to swim at your highest levels.
Taping to Keep Goggles on Head
Physical contact can sometimes cause your goggles to come off your head.
Tape it on and play it safe.
Taping to Prevent Chafing
Taping can help prevent chaffing caused by wetsuits and technical swimsuits
