Olympic 10K Marathon Swim Qualifications
The path to the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim gold medal is an extraordinarily competitive one. The official rules as devised by FINA and approved by the International Olympic Committee are below in English and French.
At the 2012 London Olympics, the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim will be held in a 6-loop course in the Serpentine, located in the middle of Hyde Park in London within minutes of Buckingham Palace in front of thousands of fans and a worldwide TV audience. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim will be held at the world-famous Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
